Gender Equality through Education

What is Gender Equality or Gender Parity

Education can promote gender equality through following effects:

1. By capacitating women to find employment, thereby making them independent and economically strong.

2.  It will raise women’s awareness of their human rights.  As a result, enabling them to contest the human rights they were denied.

3. Conventionally men have dominated politics heavily.  Educating women will increase their political representation, thereby enabling them to vouch for women’s rights, safety and women-centered legislation.

4. Improvement of women’s representation in eco-political affairs via eduction will bring about a change in their social status, extending their importance at both societal and household levels.

5. Education will dispel gender stereotypes, reserving no particular field/work for men; thus, empowering educated women to determine their fate in accordance with their caliber and competence.

The gap between men’s and women’s expected lifetime earnings globally is $172 trillion (World Bank)
